At Apex Managed Hosting, we make managing your WordPress websites intuitive and efficient. The Instance Details page in Your Apex Managed Panel is your one-stop hub for controlling and viewing key aspects of your website. Whether you’re working on a live site or testing changes in a staging environment, this page offers all the tools you need at your fingertips.

Here’s an overview of the primary features and how to use them effectively.

Live and Staging Instances

At the top left of the Instance Details page, you’ll find buttons to switch between Live and Staging versions of your site. If you haven’t created a staging instance yet, this is where you can set it up.

Creating a Staging Instance

  1. Click the + icon or Staging button.
  2. Fill in the required details in the modal form:
    • Protocol: Select HTTP or HTTPS.
    • Domain: Enter the domain for your staging site. (The domain structure depends on your plan configuration.)
  3. Click Create Staging, and the system will create your staging site.

Once the staging instance is ready, it will appear under the Staging tab, allowing you to experiment with updates and changes without affecting your live website.

Push to Live

If you’re satisfied with your staging changes, you can push them to the live site. You have multiple options for what to migrate:

  • Overwrite files.
  • Push the full database.
  • Push table structure changes.
  • Push tables with changed data only.

Push to Staging

Similarly, if you need to synchronize updates from your live site back to staging, you can use the Push to Staging option. This is helpful for minor changes made to the live site that you’d like to reflect in staging.

Domain Management

Directly below the Live/Staging buttons, you’ll see your instance name, which you can edit using the Edit button. Tap the dropdown arrow beside the instance name to switch between your sites without returning to the instances list.

You’ll also find the site’s full domain displayed here. The domain is interactive, allowing you to click on it to visit your site in a new tab.

To the right, there’s a Change Domain button and options to manage or add tags to your instance for better organization.

Actions

The top right corner offers a suite of quick actions, including:

  • Share Instance
  • WP Admin Access
  • Create Staging (also available as the + sign earlier)
  • Update Site
  • Clear Cache
  • Delete Instance

These options streamline common management tasks, giving you full control over your website management.

Navigating the Menu

The Instance Details page is organized into five main sections, accessible via the menu buttons:

  • Site Details
  • Monitoring
  • Backups
  • Plugins
  • Advanced Settings

A button on the far right provides direct access to your hosting area for additional configuration options.

Site Details

This is the landing section by default and gives you a comprehensive view of your site's key information.

  • Site Preview: Hovering over the screenshot enables features like Visit Website or the option to Refresh Thumbnail.
  • Installation Details: View your WordPress and WooCommerce versions, with automatic checks and easy one-click updates.
  • Security Details: Manage your backup schedule and create additional backups when needed. Set up or adjust your SSL Certificate.
  • Loading Speed: Evaluate your site’s loading performance on desktop and mobile devices.

Instance Analytics

At the bottom of the Site Details page, you’ll find graphical data tracking your site’s traffic and bandwidth usage. Adjust the scope of these graphs to view metrics for the last week, month, or year.
