Plugins are a powerful tool to customize and enhance your WordPress site. With Your Apex Managed Panel, managing plugins is simple and efficient. Whether you want to add new features, optimize performance, or streamline your workflow, the Plugins section provides all the tools you need.
This guide will walk you through viewing installed plugins, using the available tile and list views, adding new plugins, and performing essential actions like activation, deactivation, updates, and bulk operations.
Viewing Installed Plugins
The Plugins section of the Instance Details page showcases all plugins currently installed on your site. This includes plugins that came pre-installed based on your hosting plan and those you’ve added yourself.
Tile View
If you prefer a visual overview of your plugins, the Tile View is ideal. Here’s what you’ll see and can do:
- Each tile displays the plugin’s name and a brief description. Click Read More for the full description.
- A status icon next to the name indicates whether the plugin is up-to-date.
- The plugin’s activation status is visually highlighted with colors or gray markers at the top of each tile.
Actions Available in Tile View:
- Activate/Deactivate or Remove Plugins using action buttons at the bottom of each tile.
- Perform actions in bulk by selecting multiple plugins with checkboxes that appear when you hover over tiles.
- Sort Plugins by name or status using the dropdown menu near the search bar.
List View
For a detailed table-like format, use the List View, which organizes plugins in categories for easy reference:
- The plugin’s name and description appear on the left-hand side. Click Read More for additional details.
- The installed version is displayed next to the plugin name, with an icon indicating if it’s up-to-date.
- The plugin’s status is marked as Activated or Disabled, paired with color-coded highlights for quick identification.
Actions Available in List View:
- Activate, deactivate, update, or delete plugins from the actions column on the right.
- Use the checkboxes on the left to select multiple plugins and perform actions in bulk.
- Sort by name or status using the column headers.
Adding New Plugins
Extending your site’s functionality is a breeze with the Add New feature in the Plugins section.
Click the Add New button located to the right of the search bar.
Use the search bar to find plugins or explore by popular tags. Results can be sorted by popularity, rating, or recency.
Each plugin entry provides:
- Name and description (click Read More for the full description).
- Average rating and the number of installations.
- Required WordPress version and time of the last update.
To install a plugin, click the Download button on the plugin’s tile or listing.
Note
If a desired plugin doesn’t appear in the search results, it could be restricted by your administrator.
Bulk Actions
To save time, Your Apex Managed Panel allows you to manage multiple plugins at once:
- Use Checkboxes to select several plugins.
